in my earlier teens, my most prized possession was my little tape recorder. whenever i liked a song on the radio i'll wait till the DJ finished introducing the next song and then click the big red button to record the song. (shut-up, no comments) Sometimes it didn't always work..some songs took a few gos and you wait around till they played that song again... Yah i know..it sounds really sad... Don't worry, i have since paid for it by being laughed at by Bevo. Anyhows, i just found out i wasn't the only (sad) one! woopeedoo. How cool is that? Children of the early 80s were all as sad as each other haha...
i wonder what happened to my trusty little tape recorder and all the mixed tapes (ya, mixed tapes!!!) i made.
Currently doing: Enjoying my day off... It feels good to wake up in your own house and not some manky accomodation that survived 2 wars.. hee.

me is tired

Working in the ED is very overwhelming. the pace is fast. people are ill. the clock is ticking (damn the 4 hour rule). your brain seems to be perpectually zooming. the only time you don't think is when you are standing in front of the coffee machine..and order tea instead?!
doubled with the fact that your sleep is disrupted cos you sleep weird hours, chase the clock due to your shift times and there is now no such thing as a weekend makes people who work in the ED very very very very very very tired indeed. God give me strength.
I guess the good thing is that patients are still commenting on how smiley i am...although they still think i'm a nurse, for aren't all females who wear scrubs all nurses? chuckles. 1 patient said to my male nurse "oh doctor, that was such a lovely nurse" ?!!!?? - i did introduce myself btw.

Walking home from Tesco
I enjoyed the walk home today. Perfect weather, perfect music on my thingimagic... oh, and local chav boy stripping starkers and jumping into the albion channel for a dip - i'm sure it's against the national park rules.
Currently doing: Trying desperately to stay awake, but failing miserably. However, I think some coffee cake and tea might be useful... edging to the kitchen now...

big yawn
i thought i'd lost my phone today..but it's in darling's car. yay!
just that the car is now in the midlands...means i'll not be ringing anyone up this week.
so happy i found the damn thing...i was running around looking for it...even looked through the rubbish..don't trust myself when i'm tired to place things in the right place!
currently doing: desperately trying to keep me eyes open..but failing miserably. finished the harry potter book..what book to read next?

blood money
i've changed jobs now, and have moved to another suburban hospital.
and i have been told today that unless i make my occupational health appointment whereby blood is drawn from me, i will not be put onto payroll and henceforth not paid. not even if i work my butt off.
now, is that not blood money or what?
Currently doing: Thinking that i am sure to fail the exam, considering my books are still in pristine condition contained within their original foyle's carrier bag.
